EFE Out & About

EFE will be attending the South East Bus Festival at the Kent Showground on Saturday the 28th March. The event is open from 10am to 4pm and admission is £8. Last year over hundred buses & coaches attended, there will also be a large display of cars, commercials, & motorbikes. Further information about the event can be found HERE.

Atlas Editions European Coaches At Discount Prices

The Yardley Wood Bus Club have secured stock of three of the models that were previously only available to residents of mainland Europe as part of Atlas Editions European buses collection. The 1/72 scale models which have a normal RRP of £29.99 are being offered for just £9.99 each plus P&P. Fake Tower Transit EFE Models

A number of fake Tower Transit EFE Routemaster models have been offered on eBay, Barrie Davis has sent me details of one such model. The Visit Australia advertisements, Tower Transit company logo's and destinations have all been copied although the spelling of Trafalgar is unfortunate. In this case, one of the original 156 series RM models has been used and is packaged in an old style EFE black box. The genuine models are based on the retooled version of the EFE Routemaster that has driving mirrors & flush glazing. They also have a large Tower Transit label covering the whole of the rear of the fawn map style EFE box. The Visit Australia advertisements on the model are professionally printed and have a glossy finish. The fake model has the destination displays & registration plates printed on stickers whereas on the real EFE model these are all tampo printed directly onto the model. Finally the real models have small Tower Transit names & legal address behind the front near side wheel rather than London Transport, 55 Broadway ones. Below are links to some eBay photographs showing one of the copied models which to be fair to the seller was advertised as a "code 3 copy of the original", but none the less could be passed on by a less scurplus seller as a genuine model. Latest EFE Newsletter

The latest EFE subscriber's newsletter arrived today. EFE are planning to release further models to mark this year's centenary on both Southdown & Wilts & Dorset. In addition to the recently announced Southdown Bristol VR II in the Queen's Silver Jubilee livery, a Southdown East & Mid Sussex Open Top Bristol VR III and a Bedford OB Coach are also being prepared. After the already announced Leyland TD1, the next model in Wilts & Dorset livery will be a Daimler Fleetline DMS in the operator's red livery. EFE report that the much delayed Greater Glasgow Alexander bodied Leyland Atlantean (23805) sold out within a week of its release back in February. EFE are reporting low or very low stock remains of the following recent releases: 18015 Nottingham City Transport - MCW Fleetline (low) 38116 Crosville N.B.C. - Bristol VRT (very low) 34004 London Transport WWII (route 28) - AEC 2RT2 Single Headlamp (very low) 29632 Northumbria (route X26) - Leyland Olympian Bus (very low) Finally EFE is preparing the next Subscription Service member's model, this will feature an open top Bristol VRT III in the Hampshire Pullman livery.
