The Bristol K type with ECW body was the standard double deck type in the late 1940's and 50's for most of the Tilling Group operators, the vehicles were a common sight in the red or green group liveries across the UK.
The Bristol K was one of OOC's launch models, the casting is also the basis for the Leyland PD1 ECW bus (408). After launch a steady flow of releases followed until January 2000 after which the casting lay dormant for over six years.
As an experiment 40702 was issued in an un-decorated Tillings Green livery. The aim being to offer purchasers a bare base model which could easily be customized using the waterslide transfers available from various third party suppliers. |
