New Open Top Oxford Diecast AEC Routemaster Available
There were no standard issue new releases from Oxford Diecast during February, but a commissioned model of an Open Top AEC Routemaster is now available from the Only Fools & Horses Appreciation Society Shop.

The model is based loosely on the Leyland Titan PD2 Open Top vehicle used in the episode "A Slow Bus To Chingford" which first aired in 1981. The bus was at that time operated by Grey Green, their former Stamford Hill depot also features in this episode. KCH 106 carried the operators standard white & olive green livery, the vehicle still exists & is now registered XMD 47A.

The model reproduces this livery, but without the Grey Green fleet names. It has route number 100 with a front destination for the Lea Valley Viaduct & rear one for Lower Edmonton.

Model is supplied in the standard Oxford plastic display case with special Trotters Ethnic Tours - Open Top Bus Card sleeve that contains background information on the particular episode
It's priced £17.99 plus delivery. Both the model packaging & site shop description state the model is 1:43 scale, it appears however to be based on the existing Oxford 1:76 scale tooling, the price also suggests a model of this scale.

More details & product photographs can be found on the Only Fools & Horses Appreciation Society Shop site: www.delboysonlineshop.com.

A brief overview of the episode featuring the real vehicle

At the time of posting, there's still been no official word from Oxford Diecast regarding the expected February-May 2023 catalogue, this has traditionally been announced in late January/early February.
