Blackpool Railcoach Tram

20 Brush Railcoaches were ordered in 1937 following the closer of the neighbouring Lytham St Annes Tramway, prior to this Blackpool had hired some of Lytham's trams for illumination services. Originally given fleet numbers 284 to 303. two of the class were scrapped (301 & 303) prior to the renumbering of the vehicles in 1968, the remaining trams gaining fleet numbers 620 to 638.

Although all the Brush Railcoaches still remain in stock most are now withdrawn and only a handful currently remain in available for normal service.

The first OOC releases occured in July 1999. The model comes in two versions with or without cove roof light windows, additionally the trams can also be produced with the earlier pole style or later pantograph overhead pick ups.

Some of the models have been released in various versions of the standard livery however the majority of the models have featured the colourful all over advertisement liveries applied to these trams in more recent times.
Models issued prior to July 2004 were not certificated, and Corgi hasn't stated production quantities for these releases.

This model supplements the double deck Blackpool Balloon tram (435 / OM435) which was lauched in 1997.
