Wrightbus founded in 1946 is an independent bus bodybuilder located in Ballymena in Northern Ireland. The Eclipse Gemini was launched in 2001 and was the bodybuilders first venture into the double deck bus market. The design quickly found favour with a wide array of operators and several of the larger groups including Arriva & First have also placed sizeable orders. The bus shares a similar frontal design to that used on Wright Solar Fusion bendibus.

The OOC model was added to the range in April 2004 and within 2 years there had already been 15 releases.
