The deluxe range was the first sub-series to appear, the models involved are nearly always re-workings of previously issued standard releases. The De-Luxe series allows EFE to re-issue models where production has been larger than demand. To date only trucks & buses have appeared in this range, early truck models simply had additional plastic loads added, while buses had the addition of registration plates, and slightly revised route details. When the standard models became more detailed the De-luxe range followed and offered more complicated extras, these now include not only new registration marks, but new fleet numbers, advertisements, and different route numbers and destinations. The number of deluxe releases has reduced in the last couple of years, this is probably mainly because EFE are now better at forecasting demand for their standard releases. All deluxe releases since 1996 have been issued with limited edition numbered certificates. The production runs for these models is normally between 1000 and 2500 pieces. The Qty column shows the total number of each model produced where known. The quantities shown here are the official figures indicated on the certificates. (N/C = No Certificate). I've briefly listed the changes and new features added to the original base model to produce to the deluxe version. Some of the early deluxe trucks were issued as original models, there being no standard release as such. A small number of early deluxe truck models under went some of the most dramatic changes, having completely new rear bodies added, these trucks rather confusingly retained the original versions catalogue number. I've listed these models in the section relating to their new body styles rather than by the issue numbers. The early truck models were originally releases in plastic blister packs, however when buses began to appear in the range, a switch was made to a blue 'De Luxe Series' branded version of the standard box, these continued to be used until 2004, when a new design was introduced as part of a revamp for the series.
